Wyvern Writers

Welcome to Wyvern Writers’ Webpage

What is Wyvern Writers?

Founded in 2006, the group was the idea of Adam, one of the staff at Chandler’s Ford library, and this is where we still meet every month for a workshop, talk or critique session. The original brief was to form a support group for creative writers seeking publication, and this remains our aim. Starting with a few stalwarts we now number fifteen and we can accept no further applications: an example of growth through enthusiasm.

What do we do?

We share both skills and advice. The writing of our fifteen members covers the genres from poetry to science fiction, erotica to memoir and much else besides.  We encourage each other to submit determinedly to agents and publishers and to enter writing competitions.

What’s on the programme?

Though we have been completely independent and self- motivating from the start, we have benefited from experienced speakers giving advice, running workshops and tutoring. Our grateful thanks go to the many admirable masters of the craft we have welcomed over the two years of our existence.

As you open this book, (created by one of our members), you will see that this dynamism means we not only strive for, but produce, creative writing of a high standard. I hope you will enjoy reading our submissions.

Thank you for seeking us out.
