I am honoured to announce that our patron, Ronald Harwood, whose plays Collaboration and Taking Sides are currently playing to rave reviews at Chichester Festival Theatre, will appear on Friday, 26 September at Havant Arts Centre.  He will give a Q & A session immediately following a screening of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, for which he won a Bafta this year for best-adapted screenplay. Two-time Artistic Director of Chichester Festival Theatre, Patrick Garland, will also appear at Havant Literary Festival, in 'My Life in Theatre', on Saturday, 27 September at Havant Arts Centre, at 7.45pm.Tickets £6, also available from Havant Arts Centre.
 
On Friday, 26th September, An Evening with Keats will take place at St Faith's Church. This is an outstanding celebration of the life and work of the poet John Keats (1795 – 1821), who spent his last night in England at Old Mill House, Bedhampton, and in 1819 finished writing his masterpiece, The Eve of St Agnes, there.
 
The programme is as follows:
7.00 - 7.45pm A talk on Keats' life, work and local connections, by WEA tutor Christine Houseley
7.45 - 8.15pm Interval – free refreshments available
If you are not attending the first part of the programme, or if you are leaving the building during the interval, please return to your seats by 8.15pm.
 8.15 - 9.00pm Dramatised recital of The Eve of St Agnes by members of The Bench Theatre Company
 9.00 - 9.45pm Performance of a selection of English part songs by local choir, Cantemus.

Cantemus will be accompanied by organist Helena Youle, who will also provide incidental music throughout the evening.
